Hi, I have RILP (Lumbar Plexopathy) and this has been my main problem for years but now the bowel problems are taking over - frequent flare ups of pain and diarrhoea lasting days. My insides feel inflamed and I feel very unwell. I have had a colonoscopy but was wondering if the damage is in the small bowel, like Chrons disease or IBD. Has anyone had any tests looking at the small bowel?
I have requested an appt. at a Late Effects Clinic but was just wondering what tests are likely to be offered.
Thanks,
Kathy

I was diagnosed with small bowel crohn's last September officially after many years. Only the pill cam picked it up. Last October I started with what I thought was sciatica down my femoral nerve. I saw a Neurologist privately in December from there I was referred to the NHS at Salford Royal under him in his clinic. I had my appointment on Monday this week and had some nerve and muscle conduction tests the same morning and was diagnosed with Inflammatory Lumbarsacral Plexopathy. Granted not radiation induced, I don't know how it started but it seems to be getting better, and my crohn's is behaving too. You could do with having an MRI to look at you small bowel and then push for a pill cam.
