Experiences with sucralfate enema

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have experience with the use of sucralfate enema for intestinal bleeding due to PRD? When the improvements start, since I've been using them for two weeks and the bleeding is the same intensity?

I had it done by a nurse. It helps a little. I could not make the enema myself, too messy. Finally I got 60 hyperbaric chamber oxygen treatments and that stopped the bleeding by 95%. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I still can't have a hyperbaric chamber, my oncologist thinks that not enough time has passed since the end of the therapy. She is afraid that some tumor cells are left behind, so that they do not spread due to a lot of oxygen.

Hi NenaL,I'm afraid I can't answer your question about enemas but I can agree with Romian about the Hyperbaric. I am 30/40 sessions through and it's been really successful at stopping my bleeding from sigmoid colon damage and proctitis.

Hello. Yes I tried the enemas but I couldn't hold them it because of radiation damage. I did have 40 hyperbaric therapy treatments and that did help my bleeding. Best to you

I used these for 8 months did help for a while but I went on to have apc later treatment which has stop my bleeding it's been 2years

Hi Vin06, thanks for reply. How much time has passed from the bigining of use the sucralfate enema to the noticeable improvement? APC is next step if this doesnt work...
