Lazaruslong, a few yrs ago a couple from CA moved to our West Tx city and incredibly populated our city Wildflower Park next to our Arboretum with a large variety of poppies. This added so much color and beauty to our park that both pro and amateur photographers come annually to photograph.
Unfortunately a couple of yrs ago, a new drip irrigation system was installed in park and the number and variety of poppies was lost. Still lovely with many other "native" and transported wildflowers but the glory burst of color added by the poppies has been a true loss.
Especially missed are the much fewer CA, state flower, poppies which tended to be at the front borders of many of the paths. Thx for your photo!

My poppies are later than the one's down in the valley. I've seen whole mountain sides covered with them .. So many and so brilliant that you could see the color several miles away. The Anza Borrego park not far from my place, is a gathering place for flower lovers to gather for the Desert in Bloom "celebration" If you like wildflowers that's the place to be every spring.
