Christmas 2020, in perspective....

Dear Everyone (well in the UK anyway),

Especially those now Unable, to see- even family- over Christmas. Can I offer a little 'Perspective' or, at least, a few thoughts.

Despite a 'Devastating' Global Pandemic.... we are Still Alive. Our Lord Jesus, was Born, on Christmas Day (Ok it WAS more likely in the spring, but still). We are Finally, and Definitely, LEAVING THE EU- after four blommin' years. (probably more). A Vaccine, for this Dreadful Disease, is 'Just About' ready- realistically, we should be 'Clear', of it by next Summer. There is an Extra Bank Holiday, in leu of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, next year. This Years delayed Olympic Games should take place, in Tokyo.... Personally I'm Looking Forward to that- I Love the Games, the Atmosphere and Comradeship, nothing else compares. (forget the, always Overblown, 'Football' World Cup... that doesn't have 'The World' anyway- only the Teams That Qualify.)

So, in short, Yes A Difficult Time.... but 'Light', at the end, of the Tunnel. Stay Strong Everyone- we CAN 'Do' this. Our Parents, and Grandparents, survived a WAR- with bombs raining down on them.... all WE 'have to do' is Stay At Home, is this asking too much?

Have 'Faith' everyone.... Faith in 'Humanity', if not Our Lord Jesus. (or whichever 'Deity' you Believe in). We Shall Overcome....

Merry Christmas Everyone

So so well said Andrew and what an excellent and positive post. You are right in everything you say. We aren't deep in trenches like our forefathers, we just need to do as we are asked, not that hard.

Thank you ๐Ÿ™

As you say my parents survived the War and I was born two months early 6 days after the War started can't remember much about it apart from moving house several times and the bombs that fell when there engines stopped. As for the present we had decided long before all these rules that we could not met indoors. My daughter is a teacher, my daughter in law works for a bank and 6 off the Grandchildren are at school and one at University and is self isolating because one of his friends who he saw outside since he has been home has the virus. Hopefully the Oxford developed vaccine will be approved soon, I cannot have the current vaccine because many years ago I had a mild reaction to penicillin and this shows on my records as an allergy. Never had any problem with flu vaccines or the holiday ones!

Thank you, Andrew for your Kind thoughts, and, Although not a Christian myself, I will wish you the greetings of the Season.

I was feeling sorry for myself, but also count my blessings. for instance last night we had a carol service. Socially distanced outside freezing but lovely to be able to join in. I used to belong to a choir, we are all getting on, but I miss all of them. Hopefully after this jab we can enjoy meeting and socialising again.
