Went for a little walk along our Canal near the Boat Marina! Fell asleep after lunch and missed all that lovely sunshine! But at least went out, but it was nippy and windy! Scarf, hat and gloves kept me warm with my winter jacket! πβΊοΈ
I try to get a more sunny perspective next time, but it was nearing dusk π€

How nice pity you missed the sun but it was still nice to be there it's a lovely canal we have a marina with boats off the river Humber but it in town and I don't go now as no transport π£
No car there's buses but not safe were not even going in park unless it's real quiet as mam's heard it's in the air floating about in getting electric bike after Xmas π
Its great isn't it to get out in the fresh air for a walk!
I am used to going out on my own as live on my own! But I know how to defend myself just in case! When I didn't have a car I avoided dark allee ways and walked on lit pavements! π¦π
It's good to hear your a Lady with wisdom! I suppose it's commen sence majority of the time?
I mean to say that being a 42 yr old man i take precautions , I do miss being able to just enjoy nature as much lately as I don't get to meet any likeminded nature lovers ,
I love dusk , around water but times are different at the moment ??
Well it took me a bit but got really fed up today being at home! So thanks to my friends on here I just went out and so glad I did! Nothing worse then staying in the house and looking at the 4 walls is there Karl ππ I am 63 years old and if I can do it you can too, right?ππ¦π²π±πΏπΊπ·π³
Well I still work but am furloughed for 4 weeks well 3 weeks now! It's a difficult time of year this before Christmas mentally! But glad Jerry and lots of others are motivators and it does help to have this community here for sure!π³
It's also the lack of contact with other people really like family, friends or work! It's tough π
Good on you ! I live on my own too and still walk on my local beach in Spain don't ever let age restrict you, I'm 80 next year two years ago I took myself to San Francisco and Las Vegas and flew over the grand canyon in a helicopter. Independance keeps you going at heart ! Xx
It's great that you got out for a walk - and that you wrapped up nice and warm in your scarf, hat, gloves and winter jacket. Lovely photos of the canal. I really like them.

That's a very full canal. What a lovely place to live, Yorkshire is beautiful. I have a cousin that lives in Gisburn, I'm proud to say I'm half Northern, my dad was from Durham.ππ
This reminds me of my Childhood, Many an hour, day, week, spent on the river. We used to have a beautiful 'Clinker Built' (wooden construction) Cabin Cruiser. She was moored at Tempsford, on the River Ouse.... the 'Highest' Navigable point, back then. (These days you can 'happily' go up to Bedford, and beyond, I believe.) Gently 'pondering' down the river, all Manual Locks, on that stretch.... Manned, or Electric, further down.
The 'Dinking Water' always running low, no mater how often- or indeed- how much you filled it! The 'cabin' lights draining the battery, so you had to Crank Start' her, 'Crocodile Clips' for the Navigation Lights- switch was broken. Toilet 'flushed' with River water, Calor Gas needing 'changing' just as you got the kettle on..... Oh yes we had some Fun!
I don't know about now but back then (1960's, 1970,s) you could, so long as you had a Licence, simply Moore Up- pretty much- where ever you chose. There was a 'Riverside' Pub, I forget the name, that let you Moore for the night and use their Washing Facilities- in the morning. Ok you did have to buy a Meal- in the evening- and, quite probably, Breakfast too... Yum, Yum! (I do remember the name 'The Pike And Eel').
The River Ouse, is 'notoriously' Weedy, making it unsafe to swim in- unless you fall 'overboard' of course (not that I ever did... I think my sister did once....). However at St Neots there was a 'Very Safe', regularly dredged, section- by a Playground, as I recall. I learned to row there, I was just put in a 'dingy'- given two Ores and left to it. (I either Leaned to row, or stayed there!)
Amazing, your Photo Set, has had me Reminiscing- in such detail- I can almost Smell the water....Thank you Snowdrops_17, you have quite Made My Dayπ€.
