Just hang in there Roukaya. This current situation is nearly over. There will be a vaccine coming soon, and one of the benefits of being over fifty is you will jump the queue!
You have come a long way since the start of this pandemic. Exams are over, job applications in, your future is looking a lot rosier.
In the meantime, focus on the next steps. Your next hurdle will, hopefully be interviews. Try to predict the questions and prepare your answers. I don’t know if they still ask it, but one of the stingers at the end was “Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?” ( You might want to think on that one. I wouldn’t say you intend to start your own business -that is just unwanted competition for them!) Also, there is nearly the “Is there anything you would like to ask us?” When I sat on interview panels, there were always some who thought the candidate was not a “serious applicant” if they didn’t ask a question.
You could always use an interview as an excuse to buy a new outfit (or two !)
Also, keep an eye on other firms recruiting and keep pushing the applications. That way, if you get a rejection, there are always other irons in the fire.
But most of all, be proud of yourself. You are achieving your dream.
I hope the issue of your daughter’s tenant is being resolved
I think for me is the mental tiredness and coping with the Pandemic alone
I am unable to visit until the results are known
As they are based for those working in Practice , I should be prepared the result can go either way , that is why it is essential I start finding employment in this area
The day I obtain the License as a Probate Practitioner is the day I have achieved the dream
It’s difficult to be patient when you are waiting for results, good luck with them. If you started writing last week, it would be a bit early I think to get any replies back just yet and you have the added obstruction of Covid delaying some matters. It’s a waiting game, keep applying that is very important. Maybe follow up with a phone call in a couple of weeks. 👍😊🌸
I seem to be a little tired these days and I expect it is the worry and being alone
I will know once and for all at the end of October and then I will know if there is a resit
In any event , I should keep plugging away as I am applying for a specialist area and I should learn to realise that I am following a road less travelled in this current Pandemic
I hope you are well and thanks for reply
One step at a time Roukaya. Thinking of all your problems at one time is a certain recipe for gloom and discontent.
This is a desperately uncertain time for placements and jobs, and a week is no time at all. It's always really frustrating at the best of times, and lack of results can cause low mood and a feeling of low worth. Most job hunters go through this.
The advice given to job searchers by Jobcentres is to treat the hunt for work as a job! Benefits claimants need to show that they are spending 35 hours a week in applying, which is the average number of hours in a working week.
It's best to fire off as many applications as you can, without waiting for results. Leave no stone unturned.
But I think I'd wait until your results come in before making your search too forensic. You need to know that you have the results you have worked so hard for.
A happier life is always easier for those people who are able to adapt to unfavourable circumstances.
I hope you achieve the results you are longing for and for which you have worked so hard.
Good luck with your exam results . You have come so far and to actually sit exams like this must have taken determination . My son has just returned from a year working in USA . He is job hunting and every application takes hour and hours then you can get a 2 sentence rejection if you are lucky enough to get a reply . Keep going though as I feel you will be telling us some good news soon .
Wondering if you might benefit from some phone counseling? During these uncertain times, all forms of support can be valuable. I like to start each day jotting down some things I'm grateful for in a gratitude journal. Have you ever tried this?
I was amazed by the price of counselling which may be expensive if you have exams / studies to pay for . Maybe a coffee out with friends that really know you ?
Understandably tired as you are putting in the effort . A few days relaxation can work wonders . Yes - I am OK but just wish I had enough money to retire .
