How are you today?

Hi all. It has been ages since I was here! Time has flown. Christmas is just around the corner, sort of, and things do not look good when it comes to the lock down. How are you all coping and have you any interesting news you would like to share? I have been back and forth to the vet with my little dog who has cancer. The rest is very much the same as before. Hope next year will be better.

Hi and welcome back, wiserlady . :-)

Things for me today and this week, in general have been okay. I did a lot of reading last night before bed and been spending time with my Nephew and Niece. I went to my brother's for a Sukkot/sukkah party a few days ago and got some pictures of the decorations the kids created.

That sounds quite good! You sound quite upbeat and at least things have been happening, nice things. Great. Let us hope that every week is as great. Are you looking forward to Christmas etc or got anything else lined up? Suppose the next thing is Halloween and all that stuff.

Halloween is going to be a little different this year, but we are going to do something for my Niece and Nephew on Halloween day/night.

We may be going to my brotherโ€™s house for Thanksgiving dinner night, but we have to see what happens since we also want to do something for his birthday.

Hanukkah will be something we will have to think about for this year, but we will light the ๐Ÿ•Ž Menorah.

Hi, sorry to read about your dog, hope he's doing OK at the moment. I'm OK but still finding life difficult, not sure if we'll have another lockdown, or just restrictions, and I haven't really got anything interesting to share with you all

hi there, sorry to hear you have not got anything good to share, but hopefully at least there is nothing bad going on with you, it all seems very unsure, and then there is all this stuff about Trump having the virus etc which is quite confusing

Yes think most people are. Are you keeping busy with interesting things or getting bored?

springcross profile image
springcrossโ€ข in reply towiserlady

I keep busy with interesting things mostly but I do get fed up from time to time. How about you. xx

wiserlady profile image
wiserladyโ€ข in reply tospringcross

Sounds the same as me. I work with clients a lot of the time but it can still get a bit boring, predictable, samey, and you cannot be yourself with clients, you have to say what they want to hear and be very professional and all the rest. We used to go to the theatre a lot, so that is a big miss, we go out for a meal now and then but have got out of the habit, we cant see family so much but zoom with them, its all very slow, I love reading and films but very selectively and get bored quickly!

Our outings consist of necessary shopping, blood tests, hospital and dental appointments - so exciting! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ xx

wiserlady profile image
wiserladyโ€ข in reply tospringcross

lol. When I have a blood test they have to come here for it, and arrange a day with me that suits me so that I am not working with a client and unable to go to the door to let them in. If I am up to going shopping I do, I love shopping, like you say its not the most exciting life.

I do miss seeing family though, although we keep in touch by phone. xx

wiserladyโ€ข in reply tospringcross

yes same here, we zoom, but i find it all a bit stilted, sometimes they go on and on about all sorts of things like the weather or what they had for supper or their next door neighbour and i nearly fall asleep.

Hi wiser lady

Welcome back. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, they are family aren't they.

I've been up to my usual things and that is power walking, cycling, the gym, seeing family and meeting friends for coffee.

Thinking of you with your little furry family member.๐Ÿ•๐Ÿฆฎ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ

Hi there.

Wow you are busy and you are getting out that is great. Our family dont need near enough to see much. Otherwise that would be great, but we zoom with them. My little ones are chinese crested hairless, so its hair on top of head, end of tail and bottom of legs, not their body, its been very stressful with the little girl having cancer and she is now incontinent, dont know if that will last permanent or not yet, but she used to sleep in the bed cuddling upo to me every night and now I cannot let her, so she cries and screams all night.

โ€ข in reply towiserlady

I do like to keep busy and a good thing during these difficult times.

I'm glad you Zoom with your family, that does help, it helped me during lockdown.

I'm so sorry she screams and cries all night, what an awful thing for her to go through and for you to hear her. I hope she settles down a little and the future is positive.

Stay safe and well.

Thank you Alicia. she gets upset because she is used to being in bed with me cuddling up all night and now I have to insist she sleeps next to the bed, due to her incontinence. I think she feels I dont love her anymore. Poor mite.

Aww bless her, they really don't understand do they. Cuddles during the day ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

Thank you so much for that, we are taking her to the vet wednesday morning for another chemotherapy, she will be very poorly for a few days, it breaks my heart to see her like that. how are you

โ€ข in reply towiserlady

You're welcome. I really feel for you and your little one, such a difficult time. Animals are precious.

We have a black cat and he's spoilt rotten, he's laying on the rug at the moment.

I'm fine thank you. My thoughts are with you for tomorrow.

wiserlady profile image
wiserladyโ€ข in reply to

How kind of you, thank you. You must love your cat as much as I love my little one. In some ways that makes them lucky - to have us care about them so much - but when they get ill etc it really hurts because they can't talk to us and tell us how they feel, they cant decide to go and get some medicine or ring the vet. I feel so sorry for animals that they cannot take control or make decisions and have to rely on us, and if they have a horrible or stupid or mean owner they do not get the help they need.

We took little one to the vet this morning - her name is Strawberry - she had to have a tablet - chemotherapy - she is fine. But she still has her cystitus. They antibiotics are not curing it. It is one thing after another isnt it.

Have just been watching a drama that has been on for three weeks called LIFE on BBC last night, terrific cast, acting, script.

And had a small salad.

Hope your day is going well and give your puss a cuddle from me.

โ€ข in reply towiserlady

You're welcome, I was cuddling our little fatty earlier, he's as soft as putty. It is sad they can't tell us but I think we can kind of tell if they aren't right. I cannot understand cruelty at all.

Aww bless little Strawberry, it is amazing how they cope though but hard for owners.

I love dramas, I'll have a look on catch up for that one.

Thank you, he's out at the moment.

Take care xx

wiserladyโ€ข in reply to

Hi again, did you get to look at the drama? I got so absorbed in it ended up watching all of the episodes as quickly as possible. Now watching Doctor Forster, written by the same guy. Some of the same actors and actresses.

I never used to sit and watch tv a lot, bit its all different now isnt it. Needs must. A way to pass the day.

It sounds as if you and I both love our animals and hate cruelty to animals, I get very upset when anyone neglects their pets because the pet cant pack its bags an dleave home and sort it out themselves and can be trapped in that situation forever.

Have had loads of dogs over the years, but little Strawbery has really got under my skin because of all of her health problems and needing more attention and time.

How is your little one today?

โ€ข in reply towiserlady

Unfortunately I've not had chance, only just sat down now but I will have a look. Some writers are so good.

I exercise a lot more than I did before Covid, I exercised a fair amount before.

Oh most definitely, cannot understand cruelty. Our boy is sleeping on hubby's lap

I was brought up with Boarder Collies, love them.

Our baby, even though he's 13, is sleeping.

So sorry about your dog, I hope your pet is comfortable and is responding to treatment. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒธ

Thank you very much for that. They say she is in remission now, but now she got what they say is cystitus ? cant spell it! where she leaks and wees a lot, never had any of that before, and she has been on antibiotics for it for ages and its still the same, its nasty, and it means I cant have her sleep in the bed with me anymore. She screams and cries all night.
