I heard about that and they said its England only.

I'm glad that I decided against going on holiday and making other kinds of plans for the time being as holidays will be there another time and now isn't the time or place to be going on holiday.

Hi Jennymary, I'm just listening to it on the news now. We can only hope we start seeing cases going down again. 😊🌷

It is a worrying trend at the moment and the only way to control it without a vaccine is to social distance, hand wash and face masks for those who can wear them. 😊🌸

High risk onli?

Got finger problems typing just leaving a flare

So why have they allowed racing to be going ahead at Doncaster with 3000 people?

Yorkshire is high risk area in a lot of places too!!

Going ahead with the racing at Doncaster is crazy. How inconsistent. Still, no surprise - given that we have already had a litany of inconsistency.

My first reaction- cynically maybe- was that they are introducing it after the racing😳

Cynicism is entirely appropriate!

Thing is there are school kids going in and out of supermarkets in groups and pushing past other shoppers, many of these younger kids are not wearing masks, a recipe for disaster right there.

Yes I made the mistake of going into ours early this morning when they were getting their lunches- hardly any masks in sight.

Yes I have been seeing more and more teenagers without masks in the shops. I presume they have parents and maybe grandparents and don't care about infecting them. Crazy.

Trouble is these kids are being sent back to school and the schools are saying they dont need to wear masks. So in corridors, classrooms and canteens no masks. They then believe what school tells them that its safe if they wash their hands. I suspect you are right and there are some who dont care. Our local schools seem to be rethinking their no mask in school rules.

Well that will be temporary I'm sure, and it's not going to impact most people that much. It's not a lockdown scenario thank god.

Well sadly I don't think group social activities should be going on first, however I realise at some stage the country has to take the risk . In my city they are closing testing stations down and sending people hundreds of miles for tests. I understand the economy has to be looked at but feel control of the virus is still important as is preventing a winter flu epidemic , which is not happening as many people are getting their flu jabs late this year for varied reasons. Thank you for the post, laws for fines are not going to prevent spreading the viruses.

It’s just in England. We are restricted to gatherings of 8 in Scotland and have been since full lockdown was lifted. We were doing really well up here until two weeks ago. Our infection rate was tiny, but then people started to have massive house parties. Loads of drink, no social distancing and LOADS of people. Nicola Sturgeon wasted no time and put several local authorities into heftier restrictions. So some people aren’t allowed to visit indoors at all again. This has coincided with both my daughters leaving home - to uni accommodation in Glasgow. Thankfully they are sharing, so they have each other. But Glasgow is one of the restricted areas so, on top of never being able to hug them again for God knows how long, I now can’t visit them indoors. I can’t see what their flats are like and I can’t have them coming to my home. I’m crying as I’m typing this, because I’m so devastated. I have so much hatred for all the selfish morons who just have to have parties, not wear masks and, I’m afraid I’m really angry at people who just have to have their two weeks in the sun. X

Yes I agree going for two weeks in the sun which I haven't seems selfish and trivial and some aren't even wearing masks on planes,. The argument is however travel industry?

I think re opening pubs was a mistake mind, thinking OK taje way or outside dtink and eat but really I don't know

It can be a very serious virus in age over 50

I am struggling to track down a flu jab before October even if I pay!
