Yes I am. I don’t have my own dog at the moment. (I’m waiting for one to find me) but I do dog walking. Missing my four legged friends in the lockdown 🐾🐾

Oops I put your instead of you’re.

Let’s hope one comes sniffing you out soon. Yes, missing friends especially the loyal, enthusiastic ones that bark is difficult 😊

I was thinking about getting a service dog, but I was told that the dog won’t be able to do what I want it to do ( know when I was getting low blood sugar).

I thought people could get these dogs. One was featured on TV.

The one that was on tv/news lies and never trained the dogs.😩

Not the same programme I'm thinking of. It was genuine. Wasn't a news programme.

Have you contacted Diabetes UK to enquire about a Hypo Alert Dog.

(I just Googled it).

I walk a dog who is training to be a diabetic service dog. Could you train the dog yourself. I think there is advice on you tube.

Can it sniff lows?

Agoodenough profile image
Agoodenough in reply to Activity2004

It’s learning but to be honest I think the dog is not grounded enough or well trained. But yes that’s the idea. If you found out what it is that you need the dog to do it will do it I’m sure. Also even if you needed help to get the dog to sniff the lows a good dog trainer would be able to help you if you told them want you need the dog to do.

Yes I have seen the same news story featuring the dog that cold smell when your blood sugar drops. My sugar tends to go through periods of dropping low. I don’t have diabetes been tested a couple different times. When mine drops I get the tremors and feel bad. The lowest I could mine was 48. I eat and drank some OJ and felt better.

Yep, aww I can totally relate. It is sad when it takes more energy to eat than what you have.πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ¦‹

Sorry to read you have fibro and CFS. Falling asleep in your food is not a good look (from experience). β€οΈπŸ’πŸ¦₯

I am not aware of ever falling asleep while eating. But I have fallen asleep praying, reading and responding to emails. Being tired can and is a whole different animal for me. Being tired exhausted 😩 is the feeling of your life force energy being zapped out of your body. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ¦‹
