Thank you for creating this site.

It is hard to admit to being anxious and sometimes even hard to admit it to your other half.

I find that the anxiety is making my afib worse and that creates a vicious circle.

I know it is hard. I live alone and am self isolating. I keep in contact with friends and family on social media and phone. Try doing deep breathing exercises. It really can help with anxiety. Also keep tea and coffee to a minimum as these will gear you up. I also find reading is a good distraction.

Hi Rod,

I don't know whether this will be helpful but have you looked at Free Yourself From Fear: Copy with the Coronavirus, COVID-19? It is a course over 7 Days, or as long as you like.

There is 1 post every day. It is a Pinned Post on the right hand side.

Here is Day 1:

With good wishes,

Hi Rod! I feel like I'm talking to a friend. I have A fib too. You need to not get yourself into that thought stream. I know that when I'm anxious, I can work myself up... OR calm myself down. Look up some forms of meditation and breathing exercises so that you can do you and nobody will be none the wiser.

My husband never sees me calming myself and the meditation does work wonders.

An afternoon nap is also not too shabby (if you can shut your brain off)

Good luck, stay healthy and I'm sure I'll talk to you soon. From N.J.

Thank you. THis is all so new to me. Before the Afib I was p-retty happy, good business, gld , beer etc. The Afib changed all of that. My Afib seems t hit me after food and middle f the night. So eating and good to bed are becoming a bit of a problem.

I am 61 years old and 18 months ago the world was a good place. Now that is not how I think.

I have tried the beta blockers and the calcium chanel blockers and they don't work so now an ablation awaits and I can't wait to try despite the risks. This horrible virus ahs put all of that on hold and my Afib is a bit uncontrolled and I worry about getting the virus. I had never heard of Afib and wish that I hadn't.

I hope yours is controlled and the meds/ablation works. Are you symptomatic with it ? I am and it's horrible.

Rod, I can actually feel my heart stop and then all of a sudden this really BIG! flop of my heart and it starts beating again... and it's showing off some kind of tap dance moves in there because it's just flopping around all over the place! Get to the ER and nothing! Regular heart rate!

I have a pacemaker. I just found out that they can look back and see all of the tango competitions this suckers been signed up for! lol! Since I found that out that I had A fib, they put me on metoprolol twice a day and he's been behaving.

My husband thought I was crazy because he could never feel it. But they were doing a pacemaker checkup and found 23 minutes of my heart being in A fib! Can you imagine 23 minutes of that sucker doing a dance in my chest, and I'm just so used to it that I just ignored it?

I've heard a lot of good things about ablation. Maybe when you get it, you'll be super afterwards! Good luck with it!

Until then, stay healthy and isolated from this terrible disease!
