Afternoon, I have not received any letter too
Hello can't say if a letter is on its way or not but guidelines I've read say, I believe, that over 70s and anyone who has routinely been offered the flu jab should be shielded. I've seen lists of categories of at risk people in the press. Have a look on BBC links etc to find these. I have mild well controlled asthma and feel very fit these days but I did always take the offered flu jab. I won't be putting myself at unnecessary risk and feel that also relieves others of the extra burden of worrying / caring for me. I'm taking very seriously all the recommendations. Hope you can do the same. Good luck.
Not too sure but might be end of week is cut off point. I got text this morning and very ‘to the point’ it was too! No messing about there. Stay indoors!!
(We’ve already had the conversation about garden. Won’t do it again).
Give it a day or two and check your texts also
Good morning the fact you know your in the at risk group shows youre aware of your health and risks. I received s text and then a follow up letter as I have CLL. I think it's the advice that we all stay indoors. Mine said don't go out even for exercise. We are vulnerable and certainly may need hospital support if or when we catch this virus. From the news hospitals are doing a brilliant job but are or will be swamped by the numbers needing care. Please stay indoors and we can all help lower the loses. Stay safe well and happy. We can all get through this.
Hi Maddy02, I wouldn't worry too much about a letter. Keep doing what you are doing, that is following the government advice and keeping isolated as much as you can. Stay safe and look after yourself.
I am still waiting for a letter from NHS I have self isolated as I have polymyalgia and am on steroids my firm is asking for the letter as untill then they won't pay SSP,so leaves me with two choices ,no pay next month or back to care work
Hi, I have GCA and am in the high risk group and just phoned my doctors and got a 12 week sick note, granted you only get £94.25 a week but my family keep telling me health is more important. Hope this helps. But I think your firm are unfair to say you need the letter first
I phoned my doctor and they said don't do sick notes for 12 weeks and wanted to pass me over to 111 also was questioning if I was on the high risk
Even without a letter you can still register on the hub I believe. That way you can get help if you need it. My step daughter did it yesterday as she hadn’t had her letter. She is massively at risk with congenital heart disease and PH! But seems to have slipped through the net.
I think they are sending out texts rather than letters.
Many people have received texts as well as letters. (I have) Others have received neither as yet. I belong to a group of people who have the same illness, so I can see the different situations that others are in regarding texts and letters.
You do need to "wait and see" I'm afraid until the 29th March has passed, since this is the date by which they are planning on contacting everyone in the shielding group. So try not to worry as yet if you haven't received either. Everyone in my group is being advised to wait until after this date before contacting their specialist or GP to check if they fall into this category. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Thank you all , I have received it now
I would talk to your doctor you never know good luck
