If I "up" mu prednison it doesnt make any difference.....
I have had PMR for the last 2 years. in the last ... - PMRGCAuk
I have had PMR for the last 2 years. in the last 5 month I get bad pains in both legs. Am on 4mg pred. daily and 25 methotraxate weekly
The Dr thinks i have PMR as well. Have had it for about 11 months. I get bad pains in my legs as also in my shoulders and have up my pred to 15 from 10 and it didnt make much difference at all. Do you have muscle weakness also as in cant do a squat and get up from it?
hello bluejaygirl......thanks for replying!
I don't have muscle weakeness anymore....but i had it very bad before I was properly diagnosed. Could barely walk and couldn't even put my own Bra on!
Had pains everywhere but as soon as i started on prednison (15 Mg) it mostly went.
Maybe you need more than 15 mg. It all depends how much you weigh.
But the pains in my legs now don't respond to taking more prednison. (maybe if I go way up to 15 again...but don't want to do that. My specialist doesn't know why i have tis pain...as it is only in my legs and nowhere else.
When do You have to see the Doctor again? Maybe you could discuss with him to go higher and see how you go?
Good Luck!
Hi Diana-mc,
Don't know if you're still on forum, but I've been looking through old posts for pains in my thighs, I guess similar to those you had.
I am reducing from 7 to 6.5 Pred at the moment, have been taking for last two & half years for GCA. Spoke to GP this morning, he said all part and parcel of reducing, especially once you get below 10mg per day. Nothing much to be done, except grin and bear it! Not a lot of help. Did you find anything in particular helped, and how long before it got better? Thanks, DorsetLady
