Hi Mandy It is good you have finally been diagnosed and I hope you are feeling a little better and pain free. I was diagnosed with PMR last November and to say it came as a shock would be an understatement!! Are you taking prednisolone? This is the standard treatment for PMR and I started out on 30mg but am now down to 12 and hoping to drop to 11mg over the next couple of weeks. There is loads of support and information out there and some good support groups on facebook. Plenty of rest and short walks are a good help and hot showers can work wonders for the pain. Good luck and hope things go ok for you. Tricia x

Mandy, if you go on the PMRGCA uk website's home page, there is a link saying this:
'Now you can join a forum to share your questions and experiences with people who have (or have recovered from) PMR and GCA'.
The forum has 400 members, has 25,000 postings on every aspect of PMR & GCA and related stuff and has been an absolute life saver for me. The forum also has details of various support groups across the UK. (A few expat ladies living in Spain even managed a meet up!!!!).
If you can't find it, I'll email you the link.
