Hi margelill
I am new to PMR, diagnosed 5 months ago, but have had it for a year, untreated.
I,also, have asthma. In fact, I think a severe asthma event last summer led to the diagnosis of my PMR.
In august, My GP prescribed a Typical two week run of pred for the asthma. Starting with 20 mg pred, my asthma eased, but unexpectedly, I also experienced the dramatic reduction of PMR pain.
At the end of two weeks of prednisone, my asthma event was mostly under control.
BUT, PMR pain rose to crush me.
Subsequently, with a new diagnosis of PMR, I began a prednisone protocol under direction of my Rheumy.
My PMR is managed, but my asthma is much more of a challenge than before my severe asthma event in August.
I find I need more inhaled medicine, and have begun using Singular on a daily basis. I also wear masks whenever I am doing anything that stirs up dust.
It seems that my prednisone (currently at 7.5 mg) is not helping my asthma symptoms. I see my rheumy in next 2 weeks, and will chat this up with her.
I am interested in what you discover.
Good Health to you ...Purplecrow
