yesterday I got the results of my MRI and PEt-CT scan thankfully they showed all clear so diagnosis is PMR as suspected with no signs of GCA. So we still have no idea why the steroids wouldn’t work until I was up to 40mg a day 🤷‍♀️ but at least they are working now, on Monday I reduced to 35mg and so far it’s all good. The rheumatologist thinks 5mg a fortnight may be workable. So we will give it a go.

going back to work Wednesday afternoon for the first time in a couple of months two afternoons the first week then see how we are. Hopefully back to some sort of normality soon.

On the most positive note I rode my horse on at the weekend (supervised in case I couldn’t cope) and it all went brilliantly, slowly back to my happy place. ❤️

Fingers crossed for you… but just be aware at high doses, a lot of your energy will be steroid induced… so don’t crash and burn.. Remember you still have an underlying autoimmune diseases which saps natural energy.

I am trying not to get too excited by it all and am only walking and a couple of quick trots always with someone else there for now. Fingers crossed I can manage 1 or 2 a week.

When back at work will only ever be three days at the most. So hopefully that will work xx

Some people just need a lot to get things moving - but there is work that suggest some people only get the benefit of half their oral dose whereas for others it is 90%. So your 40mg may be someone else's 20 ...

All the best - and keep an eye on overdoing it ...

Good luck. 5mg per fortnight until what dose, or do they mean to zero?

It’s good they didn’t do the usual and instantly say that lack of result on 15mg is proof it isn’t PMR.

Beware of the heady combination of feel good relief you’ve got a diagnosis plus effective drug and the false go juice of steroids. The pot is still boiling in the background so enjoy mindfully! 🙂
