I've always been sensitive to medication to the point that my endo insists on my thyroxine always being the same brand or my levels can be unreliable. My recent prescription of Prednisolone was a different brand from what I have been having (cheaper perhaps) and I realised that I have had some side effects that I didn't have before. Has anyone else had problems with different brands of Pred?

Different brands of Prednisolone

Not that unusual - it isn't price really, it is manufacturer and the fillers they use do vary from brand to brand. It is perfectly reasonable to identify a brand or brands that suits you better and ask the GP to prescribe it by name though there may be problems for the pharmacist sourcing a particular brand.
Yes, I had what I think was a side effect of a particular brand. I realised the brand was probably the cause of the problem when someone who was also gluten intolerant flagged it up on here. The particular brand had 15% starch paste as the filler and unlike other brands I could find no information on what the source of the starch was, even when I contacted the company (no response). The problem resolved itself once I change brands.
Good luck
Yes I was ok with the ones my hospital prescribed but then it changed to my own dispensary and I couldn't take their brand. I had several weeks severe diarrhoea before my daughter made me ring round local chemists to track down the hospital brand. Luckily I found one
During my seven and a half years on prednisolone, I often got different manufacturers. To be honest, I never noticed any difference, but, as we always say, everyone has their own metabolism!
