Hi all. Just had a phone consult with GP. I asked if I could stay at 4 mg for another couple of weeks as I'm feeling so weird and rotters. Anxiety, fatigue, shakiness, weakness, upper left quadrant pain, soaking sweats (no fever). "I think we'll continue to reduce as the prednisone wouldn't affect this." says she. Eye roll. So Rx for 3 mg. Good news is (without lying), I managed to squirrel enough 1 mg tabs for 4 mg for 10 days. So I shall remain at 4 mg. She is sending me for bloodwork to check CRP levels and all the things. I just had bloods done at ER on Feb 15th, but they didn't do CRP. Went for stress test last Tuesday (a week ago) and Internist said tracings looked "not bad at all". I'm assuming the Holter monitor was okay, as I've not heard anything to the contrary. The uphill incline did mess up the osteoporotic back, but that eased off after a few days, kind of. That's about it. In a holding pattern. Bloodwork this Wednesday.

Does this woman KNOW what adrenal insufficiency is? I do find it quite concerning.
I even mentioned it again today Pro. I don't think she actually does. It is VERY concerning to me because I do tick all the boxes. I'll get the bloodwork done and then ask her for a referral to Endo. I've explained AI to her in the past. She acted like she wasn't listening. I sent her your article from the weekend, but don't know if it was received.

Has she never heard of adrenals? As PMRpro and you say, very concerning…
What I think she meant is, reducing pred wouldn't cause these symptoms. I don't know. She gets on my last nerve.
It is a pity she does not know about the adrenal glands having been asleep and will now be waking up which can also cause nasty symptoms. It is normally suggested you stay on your current dose until things improve. Can you mention this to her?
Yes that's why I suggested staying at 4 mg for a couple more weeks, but oh no. I've been on 4 mg for a week now. I reduced by .5 bi-weekly, trying to keep my stash going but she was agains this until I said, I'm just telling you what I'm doing.
She's very dismissive. I think it's an ego problem. Myself, I like to rule things out, because there are some other serious issues going on here. Not that Adrenal Insufficiency is unserious. I think this is why my anxiety has been amping up, because I can't get her to listen and my only other recourse is the ER. Hopefully more time on 4 mg will help things to level off. If not, I will not hesitate to go to the ER.
I'm so sorry to hear of the stress you are having with your GP. It will not be helping your condition. I had GP troubles at the end of last year and I sympathise.
