Was this a home test of some sort? Might be a kidney stone but still could be an infection depending on the test you had. Any other symptoms? As you have had it a week with no improvement, a medical exam is worth having.
I put all the symptoms on my gp's online appt system (together with the many things I have tried in order to sort it out) and they called me back straight away for a 5pm appointment today!
" In older people, urine dipsticks are both too insensitive and too non-specific to be used in clinical decision-making regarding diagnosis and management of possible infection."
If you read the whole thing, ignore the "frail" designation and over 65 is a bit so-so too.
The GP did a dipstick test (interesting info from PMRpro, above) which he felt indicated higher than expected leucocytes, plus a possible trace blood positivity, so he is sending the sample to the lab for better testing.
I scribbled some whiteboard pen on the area of my body which was aching. Initially, he felt it was a little low for the kidneys, but on consulting with a more experienced gp in the practice, decided he should refer me for a kidney scan, which I think is great progress!
Good lad - and the senior guy too. Been there done that with a GP who thought he was god's gift and I fancied him as my marriage was struggling (many years ago, we remained to gether for over 50s years) so couldn't identify a kidney infection. The half retired one did though.
I’m in Norfolk. The receptionist did try and fob me off with a physio appointment but I explained it wasn’t that kind of pain, more of an ache and she relented.
