Can anyone recommend a good pillow?

I am sorry this is not a PMR/GCA question but I remember some time back a few people were recommending a particular pillow. I am having a lot of neck problems and I wonder if anyone can remember what it was called

Thanks

Dorset Lady knows the name of the one that was recommended. I bought one and it is really comfortable. Expensive but worth it .

Does one pillow do the job or do you need 2? Have had so many pillows including specialist ones for side sleeping, tempur & others etc. But have almost given up finding a solution for a comfortable nights sleep

I only use one

If  Bridge31 means the one I use, then it’s from this company - and

gxpillows.co.uk

Others have mentioned shaped ones - but it may depend on whether you are a side-sleeper or sleep on your back.

Thank you. It looks good, but I will obviously look into it properly.

Which pillow is the best for you depends on what your problem is and in what position you sleep.

I have arthritis in my neck and also still recovering from a GCA flare. Personal choice, but I have had a 'groove' pillow for 2 years and I sleep well on it. I believe they are online. groovepillow.co.uk

Your link doesn't work - probably because it should be pillows

Good morning. I have an unusual shaped pillow. It is marvellous. Can be for side ,back,or stomach. It has arm support, shoulder, cervical, neck and head support areas.I love it. I wish I could take a picture. It is shaped a bit like a flower with a slightly raised back and has two side edges for your arms if you lie on your side. The company name is Donama. It is a contour memory foam pillow. I got it on the famous online site beginning with T .Best wishes, Julia

Yes that's it .I was in a rush this morning .I actually got it from the other popular site which are usually cheaper.Temu( if I'm allowed to say)

I was wondering what T was!!! I refuse to have anything to do with Chinese marketing if I can keep them out of the equation.

I feel the same but as I suspect that many Amazon products come from there anyway and as Temu is often much cheaper I use both sites.I actually prefer buying things from a shop .

I wonder if anyone will buy my pillow recommendation.I would be interested to hear what they think of it.I would definitely buy another one.

I only buy from shops - deters me from spending money if nothing else!!! I bought new pillows last year - from the furnishings shop downstairs run by a neighbour!! Stefan may be a bit more expensive but if there's a problem I can moan at him! I get every last ounce of life out of anything - my pet hate is "retail therapy". Even buying food is a torture.

Though I did buy a personalised sunhat down at Lake Garda last week from a handwork stall which was mailed to me and arrived yesterday. But otherwise I hate waiting for deliveries.

I struggled with pillows for a long time after a bout of neck pain. I am still working on them but have learned a few principles. A firm pillow can give better support than a soft one. A box pillow can give better neck support to side sleepers (I got one from Argos which was OK). When positioning my head on the pillow these days I try to have it under my head and neck but not as far down as my shoulders as this reduces the support to head and neck.

Depends how tall or short you are and how you sleep. I am short with a short neck and use a Panda memory foam child's pillow and it's brilliant. The distance between your shoulder and top of neck makes a huge difference if you are a side sleeper. All the recommended ones were far too high for me. Panda do an adult size too of course which is deeper so may suit you.

I am a front/side sleeper. I have tried many different pillows. My favourite is a memory foam "chipped" pillow. This is where you can remove some of the filling to get the height you want. Being chipped up memory foam it doesn't get so hot but I do use a cooling pillow case and gel cool mat with it.I bought mine on Amazon. I have a couple of ordinary memory foam pillows too and prefer the Dunlop Serenity pillow brand but they are not cheap!

Pillows are so individual and it's good to have a choice. Currently got 5 pillows in use. Some for sleeping and some to prop me up in bed to watch TV or read 😂

I bought a small, very firm, kidney shaped, 'foam' pillow from IKEA, £25 I think. I sleep on my side and needed better support for my head/ neck and less weight bearing down on my shoulder. From the first day of purchase, it was a huge improvement.

I have tried soooo many pillows. Right now what seems to be working for me is one from Ikea. Klubbsporre is the name.

I had a superb pillow from Dreams it is a cooling one bit can't remember the name and I am in Cyprus at the moment so can't check. It was £150 but worth every penny, I take it everywhere with me (except Cyprus of course). I have spent a fortune on pillows so pleased I found the perfect one!
