The best way to start a dismal day weather wise. Everything is pointing to remission. I'm still on prednisolone although only 1.5mg daily. Still advised to keep on with bisoprolol 5mg daily. Half dose of Furosemide 40mg daily. Statin every other day20mg and leflunomide10mg daily for three months after I zero on pred. It seems my bloods show absolutely normal in every department so no longer type 2 diabetic. Fingers crossed I can begin the long haul to get back some of what was lost. Just wanted to share with you all. There is light at the end or near the end of the tunnel.

An Upbeat Consultation
A very good start at least - especially the diabetes bit. But truth compels me to remind you that that last 1.5mg may still be doing a fair bit!!! Just saying ...
All the very best for this last straight - just hope there isn't a hidden bend.
That is wonderful news. Your fitness is paying off. Don’t forget the don’t jump for joy too much rule. 🚵♂️
Fantastic news🤗x
Good to hear - and agree with PMRpro… don’t try to motor down to zero too quickly - lot of water under the bridge between now and then… but hopefully it will flow smoothly.
Thanks everyone. Don't worry, I won't try to drop too quickly even though I want off the pred. I know there's a long hard road ahead.
Not necessarily long and hard… but slow for sure… 😊 sorry to be boring…🥱
I'm used to SLOW now DL. Never thought i'd say that. Despite the depressing nature of this desease and its effects I am pleased to say that I have never had a depressing conversation with the people I meet in the doctors surgery waiting room. It's been a delight to talk to other's getting on with their conditions. That's not to say I would rather not have to attend. We make the best of what we are presented with.
Not a lot of choice really ...
It's always a choice. I've seen people whinge endlessly about their misfortune even blaming others for their bad luck. No one on here by the way. What we have is no ones fault, unless we blame our earlier overexuberance in what we enjoyed to a point where our bodies cried ENOUGH. How we behave once in that debilitated state is entirely up to us. I hate it but accept that is how I am at present. As soon as the worker and Queen wasps stop invading my training space I will be back on the turbo and trying to get some strength back.
If you were here, you would call the volunteer fire brigade who would be around in short order to enact a kindly eviction notice ...
I love that. Here as you may know the local authority or private specialists charge for their services. It must be a whopper and I am not venturing into their space until I am certain it is dormant. There is no quick retreat form a tight attic space.
They use it as a training exercise ...
Don't understand the logic. How can removing a wasp nest equate to putting out a fire?
Teamwork, dealing with hazardous situations - they cover an awful lot of things here!
Great news 👍👏
This is great news cycli 😊
I’m so pleased- here’s hoping the last lap(s) go as well. Got a little bubble of excitement for you 🎉but do take it easy 🧘♀️x
that is good news, I hope the rest of the journey goes well
Great news!
sidra1968, thanks. Your experience makes me reflect on our good fortune in the UK at having a NHS with no costs for all the procedures and medication received. Admittedly, we didn't have it until 1951 under a Labour government. I and millions of others are eternally grateful for the intelligence and foresight ministers at that time demonstrated. I am pleased that you finally have the medication which meets your need. Given what I was suffering with both conditions I can tell you that relief from pain came within 6 hours of taking prednisolone. good luck on your journey.
cycli, I beg to differ regarding the NHS. It started on July 5th, 1948 under a Labour government. I was too young to appreciate it at the time, but when I was born in 1950, I was an NHS baby.
so glad to hear your good news. Well done. 🤗
