Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed with PMR this past June '24. I had just turned 70 in April, am of Irish decent so checked off many of the boxes - I began prednisone dose at 20 coming down slowly to the current 7.5 in mid-September. So far, so good. I live in Maryland, USA. I was fortunate because a friend in Canada to whom I was speaking diagnosed me BEFORE my doctor got around to it. It was she who told me about this group! I have found the information so comforting. For example -- weight gain, controlling urine and today's posts about dreaming. -- All experiences I am challenged with too. One other one I had was lower leg and foot cramps when I first woke up and stretch out while I'm still in bed. That one - cramping - has gotten better as the dose has been reduced. Thanks for everyone's participation! I'm grateful. Special appreciation to my girlfriend!

Hello and welcome, good to see you here but sorry you had to join us. I have not been here long myself. Browse round, join in. Some of the others will be along soon to greet you.
Hi and welcome! Glad we've been able to help!
Hi just to say I also get the foot cramps when stretching out first thing in the morning.
It has improved with the tapering and now on 7mg, although it has taken me a lot longer than you to get here. Well done on your fast tapering.
I sometimes slip on a pair of socks when I wake up and take my pred at about 4am. Not sure if it helps the cramps but my feet are nice and cozy.
I am new USA Irish descent member too. (New Jersey). Just 8 weeks or so in the group. And you are absolutely right, what a blessing to find this group when faced with such a tough disease.
Hi! I suggest you copy and paste your experience-to-date into your Bio/Profile. Medical history helps if you later need to ask questions.
welcome to you,and good luck in your PMR journey.,x🌼😜
