I've been using capsuline enteric, ordered directly from the company for more than a week. They are a godsend. My stomach no longer hurts constantly, no longer hurts at all. Thank you, tangocharlie. I think there was also a suggestion from a person in Canada -- thanks to this person, also. I do not order from amazon because I read of too many complaints regarding bottle or package not sealed correctly, and other problems with supplements, capsules, etc. My first order to capsuline was small as I wanted to see if they really work. They do! So, I've placed another order (larger) in order to make shipping costs worthwhile. Again, thanks for this most worthwhile suggestion on this site. I can avoid extra pills such as proton pump inhibitors. If anyone else tries capsuline, I do hope you have the same luck as I've had.

What are these capsules please. I don't like taking PPIs?

I ordered my enteric coated from the Capsuline company in USA. I ordered only 100 but ran out. Due to cost of shipping, it's cheaper to get 500 at one time. I have not ordered them from amazon but you can find them there.

I have size 00. Another PMR poster says she uses size 0. "Acid resistant" is stated on the package.

In my opinion, these capsuline capsules have been a godsend to me. I have a sensitive stomach. A PPI inhibitor such as lansoprazole had some negative effects for me, plus I didn't like adding one more medication.

I can put 1 mg tablets -- 6 of them -- into one size 00 capsule.

I cannot attest to the quality of the capsules from amazon. Maybe they are just fine. I live in the U.S. so it's easier for me to order from Capsuline. You may want to visit the company online.

I do hope the enteric coated capsules can help you omit a PPI. I no longer have stomach problems and do hope you have the same good luck.

Ask your GP to prescribe the coated variety and if they say they are two expensive, say they are cheaper than having two types of tablets, the uncoated steroids and the PPI!!

I may be wrong, but I believe enteric coated tablets aren't available in the USA.

Just to say that there is also a Capsuline UK website for ordering. They may still despatch from the US but it is a seamless experience. Make sure you navigate to the vegetarian capsule section, and choose the Acid Resistant variety. I bought 1,000 tabs for less than £30.

Do beware though, Part of the effect of the pred on the stomach is because of the way it works and its effect on prostaglandins - the same applies for NSAIDs. That means that potential effect is still there and some people still need some protection for that.
