This is my second week of reducing and I have found when I wake up my shoulders and neck are really muscles are really hard and uncomfortable.

Also last night while I was reading in bed and I turned over I got a sharp pain in my neck.

I have had to stop mtx for three week owing to a bad chest and cough but, yesterday i took my first mtx for the first time in three weeks could that have caused my pain in bed.

It is a year since I have tried to reduce owing to me having a heart attack and also having cataract surgery, I am at the moment waiting to have laser treatment in three weeks.

Should I stop reducing .

Thank you

If you are having some problems [whether PMR or not] it might be sensible to pause the tapering until you have got through next few weeks.

I appreciate you have not be able to taper for some time for various reasons, but really no point in trying when you still have other things going on.

Have you changed anything on the bed? Done anything to strain your shoulders - different seating, carrying things?

Are you using the dead slow method? If so, if you had no problems on week 1 return to week 1 for many weeks then go week 2 and repeat for a couple of weeks. If not go back to your dose before reducing and stay for a couple of months.

Good luck
