hello, I have reduced to 2mg from 12.5 october23 I have been ok, up until the last two weeks, my back pain has returned, and it’s getting worse, doctor gave me codine and paracetamol but I do not seam to be improving, could I take a higher dose of Pred to see if that would help and if so how much. I am a 70 year old female. Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to your responses xx

What back pain? That may not be totally PMR -unless that’s how yours manifest itself-but would say that as you are down to 2mg in under a year that’s quick. Maybe too quick.. so maybe try an extra 5mg for a week, then down to 3mg or 2.5mg -definitely not 2mg.

Yes sooner the better -hope it works.. would say that you have just gone too low.

Easy to do at lower doses when there’s no extra Pred sloshing around -very fine line between enough and not enough-as many have discovered,

Once you’re back on track maybe adopt one of the slower tapering regimes - really help at low doses-
