Why? Taking that much at 8pm may result in problems with getting to sleep.
I would suggest taking it two hours later each day until you reach 10mg at 8pm. Mewy
I'd also be interested to hear why?Metabolically and pharmacologically you could be creating issues for yourself. Most importantly the Cytokine Interleukin 6 which is responsible for the symptoms we call PMR is released at 4am. If you dose at 8pm that's 8 hours prior. The half life of Pred is 3-4 hours so after 8 hrs you can see that the amount in your system will have dropped a lot. Although Pred stays in the body for 20+ hours on average, the level is dropping all the time. At 10mg you may be OK, but once you reach lower doses you may find there's not enough in your system to cope with the inflammation produced daily.
Clinically the best time to dose for PMR/GCA is around 2am to achieve maximum blood levels for the 4am shedding of IL6.
