after finishing week 2 of D.L slow taper from 3mg to 2 1/2mg I was still feeling good. I decided to repeat week 2 as I have struggled in the past and wanted to go extra slow. By Monday afternoon I could feel my body reacting , feeling off and a bit shaky. I continued with tapering on Tuesday and Thursday and by coincidence I had a phone consultation with my GP. He agreed I could stay indefinitely just doing 3 days a week as he is happy with anything 5 and under.
It is Saturday morning and I am feeling rubbish.I have made the decision to stay on 3 and my question is will my body accept this or will I need more for a few days.

Sounds like a good idea. But really only you can tell if your body is realising it is back where you were a few weeks ago. Maybe a couple of days of 5mg might do the trick?

Not sure we can answer that.. but suggest you stay 3mg for 5 days. If no improvement then you may need to treat as a flare -
It's important not to overreact to a few days' worsening of symptoms. It could be that your body is fighting a common bug - perhaps one it has defeated before - and your immune system has, quite rightly, given itself a boost. Be kind to yourself; rest, and give things a chance to re-stabilise. See whether things improve or deteriorate further before acting.
I'm in the same boat. This is my fourth attempt to get to 2.5mg and below. I find the second week of the schedule is when i get the wobbles and become achy on the 2.5mg days. I become very touchy, overreact to the silliest things and just don't feel great. It has always passed in the past and settles once my body accepts the increasing number of 2.5mg days. If this is your first experience of being at this low dose it is hard to decide whether your symptoms are because you have overshot your optimal dose or your adrenals are struggling. Not all aches and stiffness are due to a flare per se.
