Morning all. Following on from my visit to the doctor 22nd March and my bloods identifying my inflammatory marks were raised .As reported Fri afternoon after raising my prednisone from 2 to 7mg sadly have to report the last 2 mornings I feel like I have been hit by a bus, my neck and shoulders particularly stiff and painful, my leg muscles some slight improvement.
I have a follow up appointment in 4 weeks but really don't want to continue in this vain.
My quandary should I give this raised dose of 7mg a bit longer or raise to say 10mg.
Itching palms any relation to this issue!

Usual flare advice as below is to stay on increased dose for 7-10 days, although it’s fine to take it for14 days if necessary..after thst you will have to come back down to a lower dose a bit more slowly.
If this is a flare in disease activity rather than overshooting the dose you need it is difficult to say what dose you require to manage it. GIve it a few more days though.
I too had the itchy palms and feet. Mine were bad about bedtime for some weird reason. I slathered lotion on them at night, I don't know if the lotion or the massaging helped, but I did get some relief!
In my experience pain means not enough prednisone.
I recently had a huge setback going from 5.5 to 15 due to stopping leflunomide after 1 year.
In the earlier years I often could not pass 10 mg without the return of pain.
My experience may be unique due to ongoing stress from being a caregiver for my wife who sadly suffered dementia.
My rheumatologist is the one who had me increase the pred when I told her I was in pain - I was reluctant to do so but relented and was pain free almost immediately.
I am now at 11 and my wife is in a Long Term Care facility so I may make more progress 🤞over the next year.
Good luck to you - it seems once we are on pred it is a viscous cycle of ups and downs.
