Hello, really someone medical needs to see it, but in the meantime can you say a bit more about it, like if there’s a rash, when it started? Is it all the time? What dose it started on etc.

You need to show it to the GP in case there is an underlying cause other than the most common cause of itchy skin: dry skin. SInce E45 helps that could well be part of the problem and if it is, stop using soaps and anything that foams in the shower/bath, Use something like Doublebase, which the GP can prescribe but it isn't that expensive. And use it a lot and lots of it after showering.

But you do really need a medical opinion.

Have you had your hba1c checked lately? But evenso, you need to see your doc. In the meantime, have you tried the E45 Anti itch with lauromacrogols, that can be very soothing? It comes in a tube or you can get a big pump dispenser. It's a bit pricey and it varies a lot in price, so shop around. The cheapest place I have found is Costco. You can also get moisturising bath and shower gel from the pharmacy, containing the same stuff.

I have from the beginning of my PMR symptoms had issues with VERY itchiness on my feet and lower legs. It is in attacks and lasts 1 hour. After trying everything I realized that allergy pills help. For periods I have taken them daily (doctors advice). I haven´t found any connection to pred. dose, but too much exercise brings it on. It followers nerves pathways, but the reason is unclear.

I personally use Eurax cream. I find it works quite quickly.

I have had very itchy skin since diagnosis for PMR, nearly 3 years ago now. My Dr cannot understand what is causing it, I've had lots of blood tests, tried only eating & drinking certain things but it still happens, even now I am off Prednisolone I still have it, tried stopping and starting certain meds but makes no difference, even tried different washing products, soaps, shower gels but again makes no difference. My GP prescribed Fexofenadine Antihistamine and Cetraban cream they both work but I have to use and take all the time, if I don't I itch, mainly around my bra line, waist, bikini line and my back, sometimes my scalp. 🤷 See your Dr, just to rule things out. 🙂
