Hello again . Symptoms of PMR and Symptoms of Predisolone side effects . Advice please

Hi Everyone , back again .! Once again I`m grateful for this valuable resource . Thank you .

Have been on Pred now for 2 years to control PMR . Due to a number of extremely stressful events I`m not doing too well at the moment . My current dose of 11mg of pred , is beginning to struggle coping with recent worsening of inflammation of shoulders and hips .

I`m also struggling with anxiety , a feeling of being constantly on edge and general unwellness , fatigue and having to massively reduce what I`m able to do . .

The problem is I`m not sure whether its just PMR anymore or the prolonged use of the pred causing some of these problems . ?

Any advice would be welcome . Also is there a link to symptoms of both PMR and a link to Pred side effects please ?

If you have been under stress recently that alone is enough to cause a flare in the disease activity, increase inflammation and more symptoms. Constant stress would account for your symptoms as your body is no longer able to produce the extra cortisol it would normally to deal with such events.

There are subtle differences in the lists but the predominant ones are fairly consistent. But there are other effects that people will ascribe to their PMR or to pred simply from experience - so they are never really definitive.

Sorry to hear you are struggling so much… and yes stress certainly makes everything more difficult.

Your tablet pack will contain a patient information leaflet which lists all side effects….and as PMRpro says there are many links regarding PMR symptoms… some more comprehensive than others, but the link she has supplied contains a good but simple explanation..
