Thymus Gland Cancer
So sorry you and your son have this to deal with. Unfortunately we can’t advise because this part of HealthUnlocked is a forum for Polymyalgia Rheumatica which is an autoimmune condition. Every case of cancer is very individual and detailed so really it’s a question for his doctors who know his situation. Comparing with other cases is tempting, I’ve been there, but his is unique to him which doesn’t help when you want certainty. I hope you get some clarity. Good luck.
I am so sorry you are facing this. Where are you living? I am in Canada. I have myeloma (blood cancer) and had chemo for it which I didn't tolerate well. I was 79 at the time. My hematologist wanted me to remain on chemo for life as myeloma is not curable. I asked for radiation as the myeloma was coming from a mass in my abdomen. He refused, but I pushed and got it. My blood work returned to near normal within 3 months and I have been stable for 4 years. So you could ask to see a radiologist as the cancer should be a mass. I found there was no understanding between the radiology and hematology departments. As soon as I saw the radiologist, she said she had good success with this type of thing. My hematologist is amazed and said, "I thought you would be dead by now." So ask for a second opinion from a radiologist. Good luck. Jane
