Get a sharp pill cutter from a pharmacy and go down by half a tablet leaving a few weeks between drops. Have a look at tapering programmes in FAQs on this page.

Suggest you go down by 1/4 mg by splitting a half mg.

I need gastric coated Pred so I cannot cut them, for half mgs I make them up with 1 mg tablets and 2.5mgs tablets. ( due to diverticulitis).

I've been doing DSNS method, dropping 0.5 mg each time ever since I started reducing from 5 mg. My approach was to repeat each step until I felt normal, then take another step, etc.

Remember though that you aren't heading relentlessly to zero - you are looking for the lowest dose that gives the same result as the starting dose did. That may be 2mg, it may be 1mg, you can't know in advance - so if you are having PMR-type symptoms, don't push it. And at this stage have long periods between reductions. The slowed tapering plans can help a lot.

You can even try 1/4 tablet reduction though it’s challenging to cut those tiny pills!

Use one of the very slow taper as described here - and at least only 0.5mg a time [0.25mg if really necessary]-

I had mine a week or so ago, and never considered not getting it, even though I no longer have GCA so not on Pred...

There is a new variant around which seems to be widespread...and with winter almost upon us, when much more likely to be prone to exposure [being indoors] to others with the virus - why wouldn't you have it when offered?

Try only 0.5mg at a time… plain white tablets can be cut [bit fiddly , so get a pillcutter- cheap, available at any chemist or online and some bigger supermarkets]

.,and a slower taper, like the one I attached earlier - you can use the 7 week one, or even the 14 week one if you are really struggling

When you say doesn't seem to work - what do you mean? Are PMR symptoms returning or is the fatigue increased as if it is adrenal problems?

However slowly you taper you will not get lower than the objective: the lowest effective dose at any given point. Maybe you are at that with 2mg now - you will get lower, just not yet.

Just because you had one flu vaccine doesn't mean you are protected from flu. Viruses change and up-to-date vaccines are valuable, particularly since your body's defense also fade and need waking up at intervals.
