I'm looking to change doctors, and am willing to drive to Phoenix, AZ (USA), which is about 2.5 hours away, if anyone has a recommendation for a good PMR/GCA specialist in that area? Or anywhere else in Arizona. Many thanks in advance.

Hi G-JoI truly hope you find someone. Unfortunately I'm in Canada but know many pmr people in the States but Unfortunately not in Arizona.

Try looking up Rhumitologist in the area and seeing their specialty as well as looking up reviews. I've even reached out to local forums.

You have done a very quick taper are you in pain?

Best of luck

Thank you, if I do not get a recommendation from someone on this forum, I will do as you say and start a search and read reviews. But for me, a personal recommendation from someone in the area who has PMR/GCA and has found a capable rheumatologist who understands our diseases/s would be awesome!

Are you talking about the 18-day taper from 60 to 10 that an Emergency Room Doctor gave me recently for a GCA flare? Not sure if that's what your referencing?

Thank you so much, I will look him up. Tucson is about 5 hours' drive from us, so I was hoping for someone in Phoenix, which is a much larger city and only 2.5 hours away. But I will keep Dr. Maracic's info handy. Is he who you've gone to?
