The podcast in the Guardian to day is pretty interesting and worth a listen. Apple cider vinegar in all its form is very "in" so a world expert tells you about it. And as a by the by, tells you how valuable the probiotic you are taking may be - or, it seems, more likely isn't!!!!

ACV, Gummies and other supplements debunked
I.might think of replacing a glass of white wine with a glass of water with 2 tblsp apple cider vinegar, drunk through a straw of course.....then perhaps I could mitigate against the carbs in a fish supper. Or would it have the same effect if I just put the vinegar over the fish and chips? It might mitigate the effects of the carbs, but there's still the calories to consider.....
2 tablespoons is a lot of vinegar even for a Whitby fish supper ... But there would be less to drink.
Haha!.....even through a straw I'd be a bit concerned about the erosion aspect on my teeth...... I'd like to keep all my teeth as long as possible!! 😬
A very interesting discussion though and brought some clarity to some of the myths around the potential advantages & alleged health properties of vinegar.
I confess to having tried apple cider vinegar- thought my throat had been cut.
I use a lot of vinegar for salad dressing. My favourite brand is a slightly sweet apple or grape vinegar but they have recently introduced an ACV with mother which I decided to try, I use it for salad and have tried it as a drink but not 2 tablespoons to a glass!!! I found it quite acceptable!
I use vinegars too: mostly balsamic (+ EVOO) in salad dressings and red wine vinegar in casseroles. I occasionally make my own baked chunky chips and love them with a splash of malt vinegar and a sprinkling of Himalayan sea salt.
I loathe vinegar and eat nothing that contains it. Am I missing out?
Not a great fan as some on here seem to be ….can take it or leave it…. depends what other foods it’s with/on.
And very much depends on the vinegar - British vinegar is one thing, the range of Italian vinegars is something else. Though I don't bother with balsamic that is on the supermarket shelf and most restaurant tables - ordinary with a bit of burnt sugar to make it brown usually. The real stuff is far too expensive!!!!
Thanks PMR Pro.
A recent Zoe podcast also questioned the usefulness of Probiotics.
It isn’t new. I tried it back in the 80’s.
At the time it was suggested as a way to lose weight.
all apple cider vinegar did for Me after 1 day, was very severe diarrhea, really bad, left it off and 2 days later was fine, I wont go near it again!!
