I have been Pred free for just over a month. Today my jaw ached when I chewed. Remembering this when I first started Pred and it was upped to 30mg.
Is this anything to worry about π

Hello, can you be more specific about where the ache is, what kind of pain and any other features about it?

My jaw aches when chewing. Both sides. Takes a few minutes to subside. π

Is it in the joint or around or elsewhere in the jaw?
Does it hurt to open your mouth wide and is there any clicking or grating?

Took my blood pressure after lunch and it was low 74/51. Took it again just now and it has normalised 86/51 π

I don't think I would call 86/51 normal!!!!! That is still very low and while mine is on the low side usually I would be flat out at that ...

that is somewhat normal for me. π

Are you still worried about your jaw?

Not so much. Think it is in the distant somewhere π

I think it may be worth asking the doctor - have you got a rheumy?

No to Rheumatologist. Will see what happens at dinner. Feeling better now BP has risen .
Do we have to be worried when finishing Pred.π

Worried no, watchful yes.
Does your GP accept that BP as being OK?

It is never low at the surgery. Has been on hospital visits but not surgery. Always very high at surgery. Will take again in an hour and see whether risen some more π

Have you checked your device against theirs?

No I normally take my husbands BP and that comes up as normal for him whether home or surgery π

Wonder if the GP's device is right ...

Sometimes... depends if PMR - or GCA has gone fully into remission... I would say mindful, but not paranoid...
If it returns when you eat again...then ring NHS 111 - as it will be out of hours - and get advice - stress your history.

Be sure to let your doctor know this. One of the signs of GCA. My doctor asked me this and then ended getting temporal artery biopsies.

It only happens occasionally now and then, just yesterday was quite painful for longer then subsides. Itβs happened when I was first diagnosed for 3 consecutive days and they upped the Pred to 30mg. I will mention if I ever get to see a GP again. Thank you π
