Flare advice

Hi again. I wrote the other day asking about stress flares. Well, I went fr 1 1/2 back up to 2, thought it was going to help but now I can see it wont and seems like its going to be a humdinger. What is that "temporary" fix where you go up a bit for a few days and then start a quick taper? It worked for me once but I can't remember the logistics. What I am trying to avoid is going up to say 5 and haVing to stay there for a month then 4 for a mo., etc. Starting the cycle all over again. Feels like a real setback. Like I said I was so proud of 1 1/2 mgs. Maybe I should tough it out at 2 and do Tylenol till it subsides???? Thx in advance Bonnie

Increase by 5mg for a week or so to knock the PMR on the head. The drop back say 4mg or to just above what you are now and see how that goes.

No need to wean, you can drop back immediately to say 3mg, if you have not been at the higher dose for over a fortnight.

Does Tylenol help? How much? Are the symptoms getting worse?

At these levels, adrenal insufficiency can cause very similar symptoms to flaring PMR - and they are often relieved by Tylenol whereas PMR almost never responds to it.

OK Im going to take some TYL right now. Yes they are getting worse. Think Im also dehydrated . Forgot to drink enough water during the Hospice period.
