Hi, exciting day today as I got a lovely, almost new recliner sofa. It’s lovely and comfy until I try to get out of it! I don’t have the strength to push the foot section down in order to get out of the seat! I haven’t laughed so much in ages! Oh well. It’s nice to look at! 😆😆😆

That's me too 😅 Ours is a chair and we've had it ages though can't remember the last time I tried to sit in it

I feel like such an idiot because it just didn’t occur to be that I wouldn’t be able to get up out of it! 🙄😆

Oh well that’s alright then! Probably thought it was purchased just for them anyway….as they do 😊

I recommend an electric powered recliner...they are brilliant. Sell the sofa secondhand and get the chair you deserve, (shop around some are very bulky and expensive)

I have one that I got second hand, it’s not as comfy as I the sofa but I get your point. Thing is., I’ve been through several second hand sofas trying to find “the one”, that my family think I’m completely bonkers. Still, the cat likes it! 😆

My cat loves my recliner...I can hardly get on it, unless I allow her to squeeze and share it.

My two love it, it’s now theirs! 😆

Love my Ekornes Stressless and my Power Riser & Recliner, along with my Molly Bather. All because of PMR. Two new (comfortable) sofa’s also. Down to 15mg and doing a ‘tortoise taper’ so far so good, a good laugh does me good, thank you 😂

Hi there! Wonderful to hear you have a great sense of humour. I am laughing these days because it is hit and miss whether I can open my tumble drier. Decided to pray over it! I keep wondering whether my thumb will break, so I struggle and use both of them. Crazy life, but could be much much worse.

Yes, could always be worse. X

Sometimes using an implement held in one or 2 hands is better than trying to press with a thumb or finger. (A hammer may be tempting but not to be recommended) I will NEVER have a push button flushing loo.

Many thanks.

The laugh did you more good than anything but it has to be electric. Ours were ok till we couldn't push our legs down so got rid of them to our Granddaughter and bought electric. Now we think it has to be electric and risers so off we go again. Keep smiling but go for the right ones. Good luck.

That happened to me too! The chair just wouldn't go down. I've had to replace it with an electric recliner/riser which is much better and just as comfy. Still takes a while to get out of it as the motor not fast but better than being catapulted out that's for sure!

After I had my accident in April i realised i wouldn't be able to use my old reclining chair as it needs a good push to get it to recline in the first place as well as get the footrest down afterwards. I bought a dual motor riser recliner from Ableworld as the cost will be covered by the other motorist insurance. As far as I'm concerned it was a very good buy.

You could be like me - bought a sofa and didn't realise it reclined at each end until it had been installed. It would give me a double hernia to try to move it 😂🤣
