Hi21- gh CRP + Holiday

I commenced MTX in May of this year. I have been taking 6mg Pred since then. My CRP levels have been - 21 - 42 - 23 -28. I am about to go on a 2wk holiday to Spain and my Rheumy is happy for me to stay at this level. I'm rather anxious about this. Would it be ok if I took an extra 1mg a day and face her wrath when I get back

I would say take enough pred with you so you can take a bit more if you need it rather than just upping it. I would take a bit extra the day you travel though.

Where are you going? It is to be hot again next week though at present they don't expect it to be in the 40s again, just upper 30s - do be careful and keep cool even if that means staying inside and if out, seek the shade.

The only time I ever upped my Pred when I was under 7mg was the travel day and perhaps only by 1mg. Then the next day I did very little. I didn’t just up it just in case. First, give your body some credit. Try hard not to over do it like getting too hot for too long, getting dehydrated, not wanting to be a party pooper for others etc, because it may spoil your holiday in a way that Pred can’t help much by then. Main thing is, think positive, don’t fret, be sensible, have fun.
