Does anyone know what this is?

Just wondered if anyone knows what is in the circle on this X-ray? I’m not asking for advice or diagnoses or anything . Just curious. 😊🤔

If you have the image - don't you also have the written report?

No I don’t. It was done when I was living in Italy and it was one of the things I grabbed to bring back to the UK due to domestic violence,

you could take it to your GP to interpret and ensure that action is not indicated.

Action would be a bit late as it was taken years ago. I simply want to know what that bit is.

I'd still just ask your doc. Even they might not know. Got any radiologist friends?

No and getting hold of a doctor is a nightmare

A rather ‘big ask’ for the unqualified, Bramble2000 😏. Puzzling for you though.

I would suggest to take another xray and see if it is still there or not. It doesn't matter much what it was, you survived.

Was there trauma to that area of your body that prompted the need for an X-ray? Can you contact the clinic in Italy and request your medical records be sent to you so you can read the report from the radiologist?

I can’t remember where I had it done but it was done off the radar. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis so might have something to do with that.

Typically “hard” substances show up as white on a film (bone, metal, stones). “Soft” tissues (pooled fluid or blood) show up as gray and air (nothing) as black. For instance I look at this a film and wonder if you’ve had heart surgery? It looks like sternal wires along the midline front (those thin circles of lines). The “depth” of the radiation, set by the tech, determines what area they are x-raying. This film is focused on you spine which is why you don’t really see you sternum and the ribs are faint. If the had done a chest X-ray those would be much more prominent and your spine less so.

Could you possibly have been laying on something or swallowed a rock? 😁

Let us know if you find out!

Ha! No heart surgery. I was stood up when it was taken. I do have Ankylosing Spondylitis.
