Mixing Prednisolone and Prednisona

Hi all. I have a question about the Prednisona steroid tablets that I have been prescribed in Spain and the Prednisolone steroid tablets that I am prescribed in the UK. I have been assuming that both these medications are one and the same and have been mixing them both. Is it alright or me to do this? Thank you very much for your help with this 🙏

The prednisone takes a bit longer to work - it must be processed by the liver to produce prednisolone which is the active substance. But the doses are 1 to 1 exchangeable.

Thank you very much for that. I am now back in the UK and struggling a little bit with a taper and wondered if it might be that. Best regards x

How long have yo ubeen back? Big change of routine - doesn't make tapering any easier!

That's a very good point and I totally agree with you 😃!Sorry I have taken so long to reply. My mother was suddenly taken ill and we have been looking after her - and yes once again that is also taking its toll! I am now feeling quite overwhelmed.

Oh so sorry to hear that - she improving? In that case - no taper!!!

Physically yes she is improving thank you. She is now able to get out of bed and walk unaided - although she does keep falling! She is 90yrs of age and has been struggling since catching covid a few months ago.

And yes..........no more trying to taper once again 🙄!
