This seems to be the Covid vaccine of choice round here. My husband had it and within 12hrs felt as if he had been hit by a truck. It has taken three days to feel better. He didnt reacted in the same way to the Pfizer or AstraZeneca.
Has anyone else had this vaccine?
No, and by the sound of it I don't think I shall. One thing I have seen is the drive for a new drug within a pharmaceutical business - it's fierce and the life of a scientist struck me as much like a lab rat in some ways.
I had it. Just a tender arm for a couple of days although I was drained the next day and sluggish for a week. No problem with the Pfizer or Moderna, the previous jabs apart from a tender arm at the jabbing site. Whether my sluggishness was a result of the jab or anything else going on I don’t know. Must admit, do feel a bit of a pin cushion with 5 vaccines now, first two AZ. I’ve had them all! No covid as yet, as far as I know.
Not sure you can blame a particular vaccine for unexpected effects - this last round was the bivalent vaccine and people have had some interesting reactions to it, mine was a dramatic resurgence of atrial fibrillation that from one day to the next went from very occasional and short episodes to 12 hours a day every day. I have only had Moderna and Pfizer - second Moderna caused a bit of a PMR flare, the bivalent was the only Pfizer downside. A change in medication has sorted the a/fib.
Quite a downside! I guess you mean a change in heart medicine? Not pred? I think you might have said in past posts but my fog is bad!!
Yes - the only effect pred ever had on the a/fib was to calm it down during a flare! Flecainide 1x a day instead of 3x daily propafenone has been a minor miracle! AND cut down on the need for alarms for meds!!!!
They both seem quite scary!

Oh why? I thought it was the better and most benign drug for pain? I do not like it. I prefer ibuprofen!
Don’t think any drug is benign -they all have good and bad effects.
Depends what you call benign I suppose! There is a very small difference between the therapeutic dose and a pathological dose - i,e, not that difficult to overdose on it and paracetamol overdose is not a good way to shuffle off this mortal coil. This article says 4g is the recommended max daily dose, 5g is enough to cause liver damage and in fact, for older patients the max daily dose should be 3g:

I have a PMR friend whose GP persuaded her it wasn't PMR causing her pain but OA so paracetamol, that wonderfully safe drug, was better than pred. Apart from the fact it didn't work, after a few weeks she had a routine blood test which resulted in a panic stricken call from the GP and an emergency referral for an ultrasound as her liver values were high. Nothing wrong with her liver - just the paracetamol!
That Guardian article was fascinating. I did know that an overdose was death by organ failure due to a neighbour who overdosed on it. So when I went to the GP for the third time. This time to say how worried I was by taking alternate high doses of paracetamol and ibuprofen every two hours day and night to try to relieve the pain from the continuing headache and thereby far exceeding the daily recommended dose he said that I would have double that before it was worrying and he prescribed Omeprazole!! Unbelievable!! I trusted him. I knew nothing of GCA or PMR.
I think I should send the article to him! He won’t remember who I am as it was four years ago now.
I had the Pfizer BioNTech and the following day had tiredness and aches but wore off that evening
I had the Sanofi booster two weeks ago. Sore arm and felt grotty for 24 hours but certainly no hitting by trucks involved!Think I must have sampled everything available by now.
yes I had it a week ago. Only had a slightly sore arm otherwise all fine. Take care
Yes I had it last weekend. No side effects at all and barely any soreness at the jab site.
No. But I've had both Pfizer and Moderna. Had a Moderna booster which wiped me out for a couple of days. Then I had Moderna bivalent and felt sort of unwell afterwards, as opposed to just fatigued. I opted to return to Pfizer for Spring Dose, although I'd have opted for Novavax if it had been more available in my area. Pfizer every time was basically a non-event!
