Reduction after bad flare

Good morning my wonderful Guru friends. More advice please. So, flare at 3.00 mg. at end of DSNS reduction from 3.5mg. Went up to 8 mg for two weeks. Flared up again on 7th day so continued for another week on 8mg as per advice. Good at moment thankfully.

This morning took 6 mg. If I stay on 6 mg for a week (hopefully all being well) is it safe to then drop to 4 mg ? It will have been three weeks ? And when can I drop to 3.5 mg. ? all being OK?

I was so happy on 3.5.mg for four months —- had cataracts done — had a colonoscopy—- all was fine! So grateful for your advice and sending hugs! Xxx

So long as feel okay on 6mg at the end of the week then you should be alright to drop down to 4mg..but I’d stay at 4mg for 3-5 weeks before you restart taper proper.

Well managed and through a period of significant stress! For these reasons, I would be inclined to slow taper by half a mg every 4 weeks, taking stock at each stage. Listen carefully to your body, this is a tricky stage and your Adrenal function needs time to realise that it needs to function on its own. I think it pays off in the end.

Sounds as if all that excitement poked the sleeping gorilla and upped the disease activity a bit. It will let you go lower when it has gone to sleep again!

The problem is there is always something! It’s life —- and I’m a worrier like many of us! Xxx
