I would love some advice please. I have studied the tapering plan and still am flummoxed I had been on 5 mg of prednisone. Then asthma reared its ugly head and was given a course of 3 days each of 40, 30, 20and 10. The doc said I could then go back to 5 mg., which I’ve been on for 5 days.when I get up I have so many aches for a few hours from neck to knees in morning ( I take my pred at 3 am)
I truly appreciate any guidance.

Sorry not clear why you are flummoxed or what guidance you want? What the doctor said was quite correct, it is something that is done regularly for asthma patients and being on 5mg just means your baseline is higher, nothing more.
Why you appear to be having a bit of a flare now isn't obvious - unless it is a comparison to feeling better while on the taper. 3am is a bit late to be taking prednisone for optimum morning effect, 2am would be better.
so sorry that you are going through this. I know that when I got down to 5 and lower that there is a considerable amount of aches and pains and I simply remained waiting for that to subside, as I know the mind can play tricks on you and tell you that your body needs more drugs…everyone is different, but that ws my experience, I’ve been off prednisone for over two years now. Hope you do well going forward
Hello Remission! Thank. you so much for your reply which has meant so much to me...to know that this is all part of the journey.. You have given me hope .. Sometimes I think it will not get better or ever end. I am so thankful for prednisone ( which I once hated the idea of) and of all the wonderful people who are on PMRGCAUK site. So happy I found. you all! One day I hope to also say, "I have been off prednisone for two years!"
yes, I hated prednisone and everything about it and part of my. Healing meant learning to appreciate that I needed it to get through it all and believe me, I did try once after the first year to not use prednisone, but it was too early for me, took me another year before I could ween off of it. You have a great attitude, you will do fine, enjoy each day focused only on the positive things….much love sent ur way, Sue
thank you Sue. I usually have a positive attitude. I ring an anti-negativity bell when I begin to not have a positive outlook. Makes me smile Sometimes I think may need to break out my ship’s bell instead of my tiny one . Haha. Jo
