Belated thanks and antiviral question

Thanks so much for the kind informative and supportive replies to my recent post. Apologies that I didn’t get to reply personally to all but life got a bit tougher and then my wife got covid tested positive Monday evening (probably from our carers  or hospital outpatient as we are soooo careful) and then so did I tested positive yesterday) Have appointments to discuss anti virals today. Anyone had any experience with these? Have to say GP and community rapid response service have both been fabulous. Thanks again to all for your support on this forum. It’s so god to know you are here. GA

I started with Paxlovid the day I tested positive. It’s important to start it as soon as you can. My symptoms were mild and I was fine after 5 days

hi. Good to hear it got you through quickly. I just had my assessment call for antivirals and because I was only on 6-5.5mg in last 28 days I’m not eligible 🙁.

Good news is that wife who also has covid IS getting them.

Hopefully I will get through this speedily as caring + covid isn’t much fun.

All best wishes to you and everyone on the forum. GA

I started Paxlovid the day I tested positive. High fever gone in 5 days and I felt pretty good. A couple of days later I relapsed and was sick again. Not as severe the second time. I think they really helped my recovery.

I wonder if they started them a bit later they would avoid the rebound.
