Looking back at your previous post would say much too fast a taper to date.
And you mentioned head in that post and we mentioned GCA -did you discuss that possibility with your doctor?
That needs to be checked as a matter of urgency.
Advice to take ibruprofen with Pred is not good - both can cause stomach issues -although paracetamol is okay -but it won’t go anything for PMR or GCA.
Although it might be difficult, you need to check out the head issues - if necessary going to A&E -if you can’t get to see GP.. in the meantime you need to increase Pred -think you need to return to 20mg for a few days -by which time hopefully you can get medical advice.
Do you mean tapping or tapering? You shouldn't really use ibuprofen or other NSAIDs when on pred - paracetamol is OK.
Do you have "just" a PMR diagnosis? When did this headache start? Do you have any other symptoms - visual symptoms, jaw pain, is the cramping you mention like the PMR pain?
I am concerned this could be the PMR progressing to GCA if you have such a severe headache. I suggest you at least ring 111 and ask for advice from a doctor but if you have an A&E nearby that might be better. Looking back at your previous post, concern was expressed about signs of GCA then. Please get medical advice asap and tell us how you get on.
It would be really helpful f you put more information on your profile page - it does help us a lot to answer your questions.
in my case my GP referred me to eye clinic (he phoned two clinics at two different hospitals) and I was seen the same evening by an ophthalmologist who stayed beyond her shift. You should get yourself checked.
I had pain left hand side above eye socket and above the left temple, plus a circle of light in left eye.
Eye clinic diagnosis: vitreomacular traction; referred to vitreoretinal surgery so may require surgery. No GCA, CPR 10 (down from 14 the previous month).
