wow ladies thanks so much for your time in replying!

As l write this l have now for the time being stopped taking co codamol having spoken to my doctor

He has suggested naproxen as and when needed.

The pet scan showed up osteoarthritis as well and it looks like this is the stiffness l feel on a morning unless l take something before bedtime.

It could also be adrenal gland withdrawal which l never thought about before.

But my consultant asked for a pet scan because he was suspicious that my aches and pains were not PMR anymore ,he was right.

Dies anyone have thoughts on taking a oil supplement or similar ( turmeric) ? For the above

Thank you ladies

Bev

Before you take ANY supplement, make sure they don't clash with any other medications you take. Turmeric in cooking has helped quite a few in the past and it probably is OK alongside most things but the supplements are pretty high dose and can cause stomach problems.

An awful lot of supplement suppliers are making an awful lot of money selling supplements we don’t need. If we have a healthy diet we are probably consuming the vitamins etc we need already. There was a radio programme on turmeric with Dr Michael Moseley and they found using the powdered or fresh variety was preferable. You can add turmeric to lots of things, scrambled eggs even. I get through quite a lot of the powdered kind.

My sister-in-law swears by turmeric for her aches and pains, but all it did for me was give me terrible wind 😬
