PMR savvy rheumatologists near Guildford?

The rheumatology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital is so overwhelmed at the moment that I cannot get a follow-up appointment, neither can my GP get any assistance from them in managing my case. He has offered a referral to either Frimley Park or Portsmouth, and suggested I may also consider paying privately for a review consultation. If anyone has any experience/suggestions/recommendations they will be much appreciated.

Standard recommendation is Rod Hughes in Chertsey. Very good at PMR and does do private if necessary and will transfer patients to his NHS list.

I'm investigating Portsmouth for personal recommendations I assume that is on the list as there is a direct train? (When they run ...)

I think Portsmouth was mentioned as my GP has referred people there in the past. He mentioned the name Mark Edwards, but I couldn’t find much about him.

It seems the friend didn't go to anyone at Portsmouth when she moved there - she stayed with the Basingstoke woman but didn't see her much. Met someone she was very impressed with at a PMRGCA workshop thing but hasn't mentioned a name.
