Steroids and antibiotics?

I have just started taking amoxicillin for a tooth problem, I’m on 2 msg prednisolon. I have felt very achy and tired since taking ABX. Has anyone else experienced this or maybe it’s a coincidence? Thanks for taking the trouble to read this.

The abx may be having an effect on the immune system but it could also be coincidence that you only noticed it after starting them and it could be due to the infection itself.

I’ve had to take two or three sessions of amoxicillin over the years of being on pred, but I cannot recollect having any issues with this combination.

Hello Ellarowan, I have taken amoxicillion recently for a chest infection which was very effective in getting rid of the infection. I was in bed for about 3/4 days feeling grotty. When I had finished the course, I felt much better and was able to carry on in my usual way. The infection is going to. make you feel unwell but the amoxicillin will clear its up and you will feel fine again. PMR is such a drag I know how difficult it is to decide whether your symptoms are a result of this or something else. Trial and error. Do what you need to do and I hope you recover soon.XX
