took the wrong dose!

After a couple weeks of 3mg of prednisone while tapering, I accidentally took 15 mg (three 5mg pills) for the last three days. What the heck do I do to avoid a flare?

I’ve been slowly tapering for the past year.

I will wear my glasses when dispensing pills in the future - ugh.

Just drop back down to 3mg….shouldn’t be an issue after only 3 days…and use your glasses in future…😉

Forget it, enjoy the boost and tomorrow, take 3mg as you should do. It's fine, don't worry about it/

It is a bit more than we'd say to use if you did have a flare but it it won't CAUSE a flare. And after 3 days it is fine to drop back, it's OK up to 7-10 days.

I would ask your pharmacist for advice but in my opinion I would start cutting back again. Pharmacist the best bet on this one. Good luck

Most of them don't know what PMR is. They do have their uses for interactions and stuff but are really a bit unreliable for other things.

I did the opposite took 3mg vs 15..... it was awful.. lesson learned....I image you felt very energetic. For me, 3 days is my physiological horizon for dosing effects to tangibly emerge ( up or down).. I agree ,back to 3 should be ok..
