flares

I know there are a lot of posts on this but can’t seem to find them. Am experiencing a stress induced flare at the moment and having waited 2 days for a nurse to get back to me with some advice and in pain I have decided to do something myself. Got down successfully to 1mg prior to stress which is gone now so just need to read some advice.

Look at the Related Posts - to the right on a computer, not sure where on a phone. There are 10 listed there with the title Flare - and as you look at them you will find further links in the Related Posts to them.

This is a reply to Dorset Lady and PMRpro. Thank you both for your help.

This is an update for you. I put in a call to the rheumatology nurses for help re increasing dose of pred but having waited 2 and a half days and hearing nothing decided to up the dose myself. I was surprised and pleased to get a call from my rheumatology consultant on the 3rd day who discussed my case and recommended a plan for me to follow. Now waiting for new dose to kick in. Much happier.

certainly. 5mg for 2 weeks, 4mg for 2 weeks, 3mg. For 2 weeks, 2ng for 2 weeks then back to 1mg. TBH this is much more than I would have done and I feel so much better after just one dose of 5mg although not back to normal yet.
