Well my friends, my Rheumy appointment went well. I managed to avoid seeing the dragon consultant and got a kinder one. He agreed a slow taper to zero. Hooray. Also agreed to physio.

Interestingly he re assured me that once gone it was unlikely to recur. Not sure about that one, but I plod on. Day at a time.

"he re assured me that once gone it was unlikely to recur"

Is that PMR or GCA? Wonder what he calls unlikely? I only know a few GCA patients where it relapsed but I know more PMR patients. The propensity to relapses remains life-long - so that comment has to rank alongside "it'll be gone in 2 years ..."

I think a lot of people with PMR when it reoccurs is when they get to zero and are over enthusiastic to stop the steroids when the PMR is still lurking.

I’m doing well. The night and day sweats are largely gone, so much better sleep. Far less grumpy😀
